   McCartneyeva akustična balada "Blackbird" velja za eno najzahtevnejših in 
  najkompleksnejših sklad Beatlov. Gre za posebno tehniko igranja, ki zahteva
 veliko mero koncentracije in vaje. Pesem je nastala V Indiji, ko je McCartneya
 zbudilo petje kosa in je napisal pesem o njem. Sam trdi, da gre za ljubezensko
 balado, saj naj bi v severni Angliji svoj čas dekleta imenovali "birds" (ptice).
 Mnogi so namreč v pesmi videli tudi političen pomen, saj je "Blackbird" bila ena
    izmed treh pesmi preko katerih je serijski morilec Charles Manson puščal 
   sporočila na krajih umora kot metaforo odnosov med belo in črno raso v ZDA 
(Preostali dve sta "Helter Skelter" ter "Piggies"). Pesem je bila nič kolikokrat
 predelana s strani drugih izvajalcev kot so Crosby, Stills & Nash, Doves, Sarah 
  McLachlan, Harpers Bizarre, Bobby McFerrin, Dan Fogelberg, Dave Matthews Band, 
                             Elliott Smith in ostali.
